INDYCAR Fast Six: What's trending in @INDYCAR from Feb. 1-7

Updated:

INDYCAR's "Fast Six" is a report derived from all things found online about Verizon IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We seek and find pics and quips as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence into tweets, Instagrams and more. Check back regularly when we post the latest.

INDYCAR DRIVERS AMONG LADY GAGA'S 'LITTLE MONSTERS'

Plenty of Verizon IndyCar drivers were among Lady Gaga’s social media cheering section Sunday, when she performed the Super Bowl LI halftime show. With messages of support, drivers tweeted and posted Instagram photos from the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, when Gaga spent the weekend with them at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

SUPER RACE MARKETING

Drivers tweeted their way through the rest of Super Bowl Sunday, too, and were especially pleased when the regional television ad for their favorite race – the Indianapolis 500 --turned up in between plays.

Not one to mince words, Tony Kanaan texted his message to Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles, who promptly sent it out to the world.

Race fans! 👋

MILKING IT IN HINCHTOWN

With the start of the INDYCAR season only about a month away (March 12 at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg), buzz about the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 28 is getting louder. So loud, in fact, the possibility of a new Indy 500 winner that is not Alexander Rossi apparently has him acting out a bit.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s also the most difficult with an #Indy500 winner around. @Hinchtown @AlexanderRossi pic.twitter.com/zOGOjDj80w

START YOUR ENGINES

The residents of Phoenix are about to be among the first to see and hear Indy cars on track, with a two-day open test at Phoenix Raceway. The drivers, who have been waiting (not so) patiently this offseason, are as excited as their fans.

JUST WIN, BABY

But the offseason has its benefits. For Scott Dixon it doesn’t get much better than seeing his daughter, Poppy, walk away with a medal from her first gymnastics meet. The proud papa bragged about her in his Twitter feed.

TELLING TALES

Dixons are apparently good at everything. Watch Scott play “Two Truths and a Lie” with his Chip Ganassi Racing teammates and you’ll understand what we’re talking about. You’ll also learn a few new facts about the teammates. Who repeated fifth grade four times? Watch:
